CipherHealth is pleased to announce their selection by youngStartup Ventures as one of the 50 Top Innovators, an award that recognizes emerging and growth stage companies in the areas of life sciences, technology, and clean-tech. Selection included an invitation to present on both existing and future products at the NY Venture Summit, hosted at the Digital Sandbox in New York City at the end of June. The gathering included numerous successful entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, angel investors, university professors, tech-transfer teams, and other emerging growth companies.
“We were very pleased to receive this recognition. Over our history, we have consistently focused on developing innovative solutions to tackle the modern challenges of the US healthcare system. It is great to see this hard work pay off,” said Zachary Silverzweig, one of founders of CipherHealth. “Not many executive teams get to sit at a fireside chat with Ram Shiram. The Venture Summit is an opportunity that really flows two ways. We were able to share our vision with the investor community, and at the same time learn how other entrepreneurs and VCs have navigated the challenges of our industry.”
CipherHealth, LLC develops products and technologies to improve a hospital’s communication with their patients. New incentive programs brought to bear as part of the PPACA (Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act), coupled with a growing movement from insurance companies towards pay for performance, create a dramatic new landscape that requires innovative solutions.
In particular, CipherHealth focuses on the areas of preventing readmissions and helping to improve the patient experience. Nearly one in four patients admitted to the hospital with heart failure will be readmitted to a hospital within thirty days. This experience is traumatic and can be easily avoided (in many cases by about 40%) through improved compliance to a patient’s treatment plan. By focusing on improving both clinical and experiential outcomes of care, CipherHealth helps hospitals to become market leaders in their area.
