Doctors Health Press, a division of Lombardi Publishing Corporation and publisher of various natural health newsletters, books, and reports, including the popular online Doctors Health Press e-Bulletin, is reporting on a new study finding that ginseng supplements may be an effective treatment for erectile dysfunction.

As Doctors Health Press e-Bulletin (http://www.doctorshealthpress.com/health-articles/a-herbal-remedy-for-erectile-dysfunction) notes, ginseng is an herbal remedy that’s been used to boost men’s sexual health for thousands of years.

As the article “A Herbal Remedy for Erectile Dysfunction” reports, in this recent study, researchers recruited 119 men with mild-to-moderate erectile dysfunction to participate in a randomized, placebo-controlled trial. The men were divided into two groups and received either four tablets of standardized Korean ginseng berry extract or placebo daily for eight weeks. A single tablet contained 350 milligrams of ginseng berry extract.

The Doctors Health Press e-Bulletin article states that the research team then measured sexual function by using two standard tests: the International Index of Erectile Function and the Premature Ejaculation Diagnostic Tool (PEDT). These tests were performed at weeks four and eight.

According to Doctors Health Press e-Bulletin, the researchers found that test scores improved across the board in the ginseng group compared to the control group. So if an individual has been
having trouble with erectile dysfunction, ginseng might be worth a try as an herbal treatment.
