US performance materials company Ferro has expanded its pigments business with two acquisitions at a cost of around $60 million. A definitive agreement has been made with Belgium’s Cappelle Pigments, a privately held company that produces and sells specialty, high-performance organic and inorganic pigments to more than 75 countries. Ferro is paying about $56 million on a cash-free and debt-free basis for the firm that specializes in weather-, heat- and light-resistant organic pigments.
