Among adults with diabetes, an intensive lifestyle intervention and diet may prevent knee pain, according to a recently published study.“In a secondary analysis of the Look Ahead study, we found an intensive intervention program of weight loss and exercise reduced the short-term risk for developing knee pain among overweight adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus,” Daniel K. White, PT, ScD, from the University of Delaware, and colleagues wrote. “These findings suggest that diet and exercise may be effective for preventing the development of knee pain.”
