CareDash Announces Dr. Arun Mohan as Medical Advisor to Mark First Year

04:57 EDT 2 Aug 2017 | PR Newswire

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Aug. 2, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- CareDash.com, one of the fastest growing healthcare review sites, marks its first year with the announcement of Dr. Arun Mohan as Medical Advisor. Dr. Mohan brings over a decade of experience as a physician, executive and healthcare access advocate to CareDash. Launched in June 2016, CareDash, whose mission is to re-define the doctor review industry by providing all patients with access to comprehensive, transparent information about physicians and hospitals, currently features approximately 60,000 patient-generated reviews and ratings. The company earned nearly $6.7 million in revenue in 2016 and has secured $2.5 million in funding led by Link Ventures.

Dr. Mohan brings his vast experience to CareDash, including a strategic understanding of patient safety, healthcare technology and the barriers individuals face when accessing quality care. Dr. Mohan is the co-founder and CEO of Radix Health, a technology company that utilizes data analytics to improve patient access, reduce cost and enhance both the patient and provider experience. He also works clinically as an internal medicine hospitalist within the WellStar Health System and is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA.

"I have spent my career utilizing technology to create systems that improve access to quality care, and I was drawn to CareDash's commitment to providing all patients with transparent healthcare information," said Dr. Arun Mohan. "Patient feedback is a key component to improving healthcare access, reducing costs and optimizing the patient experience. I will bring to CareDash my expertise in making healthcare more accessible for consumers and simpler for providers."

In his role as Medical Advisor, Dr. Mohan will lend his expertise to the strategic roll-out of CareDash's products and services to further advance the company's mission of healthcare transparency and better align patient priorities with provider services. He will also be responsible for leading the CareDash team in bridging the gap between healthcare technology and patient needs. Dr. Mohan previously served as the president and Chief Medical Officer of Hospital Medicine and Population Health for ApolloMD where he helped to build and lead one of the largest hospitalist groups in the country with over 300 physicians practicing in 30 locations.

"My vision for CareDash was clear from day one – provide access to information about the quality of provider care for all Americans," said Ted Chan, CEO of CareDash. "We have made incredible strides within our first year with nearly 60,000 reviews. Dr. Mohan's dedication to accessible healthcare and strong entrepreneurial spirit will be a true asset to CareDash as we continue to grow and expand in the coming years."

CareDash is founded on the steadfast promise to reject payments from doctors seeking to remove and hide negative reviews, a widely-used industry practice, thus, providing consumers the information they need to make more informed healthcare decisions. CareDash provides a wide range of honest, unfiltered reviews for providers, many of which have limited information available on competitor sites.

About CareDash.com: Headquartered in Cambridge, MA, CareDash.com is an online healthcare portal transforming the doctor review industry to make it more transparent and accessible for all patients regardless of their socio-economic background. Unlike other doctor review sites, CareDash does not influence, suppress or remove negative reviews in exchange for payment from providers. Unbeknownst to patients, existing doctor review sites accept payments from doctors to remove and hide negative reviews. CareDash also services more patients in the low-to-middle income range than leading patient review sites – many of whom have traditionally been ignored and underrepresented in this space.
