BIOVIGIL, developer of innovative hand hygiene compliance and patient safety systems in the healthcare industry, is pleased to announce Mr. Sanjay Gupta as its new CEO. Gupta comes to BIOVIGIL after a 17-year career at Johnson & Johnson, where he held global leadership positions. Most recently, he led the health technology business serving 34 million consumers driving health and wellness outcomes.
With Gupta on board, BIOVIGIL intends to lead the charge in defying the healthcare industry’s status quo for hand hygiene compliance and patient engagement methods.
“Our work at BIOVIGIL extends beyond superior healthcare technology development,” says Gupta. “We’re tackling the 75,000 deaths and the $30B cost to our healthcare system caused by hospital acquired infections (HAIs) each year.
BIOVIGIL’s co-founder and CTO, Kevin Wittrup, says that “BIOVIGIL’s technology and mission are an integral part of a rapidly growing segment of the healthcare industry. Now, more than ever, patient safety and engagement are becoming a priority for healthcare professionals. Under Sanjay’s leadership, BIOVIGIL will continue to provide solutions that help hospitals deliver on those challenges.”
“The numbers tell the real story,” says Gupta. “We are an outcomes and data driven company that is creating a new and bold standard of care around patient safety and engagement.”
