ERC frontier research leaves its mark: 73 percent breakthroughs or major advances

(European Research Council) The European Research Council's blue sky research continues to make an impact, as demonstrated in a new independent study, published today, which looked at the outputs of ERC projects. Overall confirming the outcome of last year's study, 73 percent of projects evaluated have made breakthroughs or major scientific advances. The report found that the ERC is achieving its goals of funding high-risk/high-gain projects and interdisciplinary frontier research.
