New Deal for Biochrom in
USA
August
15 2003. Biochrom (Cambridge, England) have announced a new agreement with Spectrum Laboratory Products (Gardena, California) for the distribution in the United States of Biochrom’s Libra range of spectrophotometers.
Jim Shannon, US Sales and Marketing Manager from Biochrom commented “We are delighted to have Spectrum Laboratory Products as a new distributor of our Libra range. With their broad distribution capability and professional sales team, we expect a successful launch of Libra in the United States. US customers will have access to Libra and other high quality products that Spectrum represents.”
Gary Thurner, Director of Sales and Marketing for Spectrum Laboratory Products said, “As a distributor for many quality scientific instrument manufacturers, we are pleased to have signed this agreement with Biochrom to distribute the Libra range of UV/vis spectrophotometers. Biochrom is known for their quality products and our strong distribution capabilities will help to introduce this product to the industrial and QC markets".
Spectrum Laboratory Products is one of the USA’s leading manufacturers and distributors of high quality chemicals, laboratory supplies and equipment. Customers are supported by multiple locations across the country and major manufacturing centres in California and New Jersey. Quality is a cornerstone of the business and their manufacturing centres are
ISO 9002 certified and FDA registered. Spectrum Laboratory Products distributes laboratory equipment from over 200 leading manufacturers.
The Libra range comprises eight instruments, from the robust, easy to use Libra S11 and S12 for routine QC and teaching applications through the innovative S5 diode array instruments to the Pharmacopoeia compliant PC controlled Libra S32PC with Instrument Performance Validation (IPV). A Biochrom innovation, “Press to Read” lamps (PTR), is included as standard on the higher-specification instruments. PTR lowers cost of ownership by running the source on full power only when it is required for a measurement, extending lamp lifetime by at least 50%. Any short-term fluctuations and instability are eliminated using another Biochrom development, Reference Beam Compensation (RBC).
