17.5 billion Euro for the European Research Area - New biotechnology magazine elucidates European structures
Berlin (November 25, 2002) - With a total budget of E 17.5 billion the currently starting 6th Research Framework Programme of the European Union is the biggest ever of its kind. Still, many scientists, entrepreneurs and managers know little about the current European opportunities and funding structures on offer. There are new efforts within the biotechnology sector to provide a remedy for this disproportion: This is where the first issue of the new magazine "European Biotechnology Science & Industry News" comes in offering comprehensive insights of the EU's 6th Research Framework Programme. 

Besides the European perspective the English-language magazine focuses on the biotechnology activities in all 15 EU Member States, Switzerland and the 10 Candidate Countries as well as on topical highlights from the life sciences and technology. The magazine is published at BIOCOM Publishers, Berlin, and is distributed throughout Europe.
