Cytomyx announces the appointment of Dr. Nicholas Pay as Commercial Director 

12th December 2002, Cambridge, UK – Cytomyx (AIM:CYX), the Pharmaceutical Research Products and Services company, today announced that it had appointed Dr. Nicholas Pay to the newly created position of Commercial Director. In this position, Dr. Pay will lead global sales and marketing operations. 

Dr. Pay has been working with Cytomyx on a consultancy basis since his appointment as a Non-Executive Director in April 2002. In his new position he will be responsible for leading the Company’s Business Development Team as well as being involved in developing business-to-business opportunities and the development of the Company’s technology development collaboration strategy.

Commenting on the appointment, Cytomyx’ Chief Executive Mike Kerins said, “I’m delighted that Nick has agreed to join us as an Executive Director. We have been working closely together since April this year and the company is already benefiting from his extensive industry experience and strategic perspective. Having him involved as part of the core management team will help us to achieve our goal of becoming a leading provider of products and services for companies involved in drug discovery”.

Prior to joining Cytomyx, Dr Pay served as Vice-President of Strategic Planning at Roche Diagnostics, where he had responsibility for the strategic direction of a major global business unit. Prior to this, he was UK divisional Director for Roche, heading their molecular biology unit of reagents and instrumentation. He was also involved in a number of business development and general management roles at Becton Dickinson including that of European Business Director, where he was in charge of fast moving consumables and reagents in cell and molecular biology. Dr. Pay has a PhD in Chemistry from University of Leicester.
