Dow Pharmaceutical Sciences Names Bill Anderson CFO & Vice President of Finance & Administration 
PETALUMA, CA, JULY 17, 2003: Dow Pharmaceutical Sciences, Inc., a company specializing in the development of topical pharmaceutical products, is pleased to announce the appointment of Raymond W. (Bill) Anderson as Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Finance and Administration. Bill will oversee several corporate functions, including financial operations, and will participate in corporate strategy development. 

Bill brings to Dow Pharmaceutical Sciences over 30 years of experience, primarily focused in financial management within the biopharmaceutical sector of the healthcare industry. Most recently he served as Chief Financial Officer for Transurgical, Inc., a private medical technology company. Prior to that, Bill served as COO/CFO at BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc., which has developed an approved enzyme replacement product for the treatment of a life-threatening genetic disease. 

Earlier in his career, Bill held similar executive-level positions with other pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies including Syntex, Chiron, Glycomed and Fusion Medical Technologies where he has been responsible for a variety of corporate functions including accounting and financial planning, human resources, investor relations, operations, information technology, legal services and purchasing. Bill also has substantial experience in strategic planning, manufacturing and quality control, construction management and strategic collaborations.

Bill holds an MBA from Harvard University; an MS in administration from George Washington University; and a BS in engineering from the United States Military Academy. 

Dow Pharmaceutical Sciences develops topical products for pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients. Services include formulation development and optimization; skin-permeation and SUPAC studies; analytical and stability testing; and manufacturing, labeling and distribution of clinical-trial materials. Dow also provides regulatory, non-clinical and clinical services required to take topical products through FDA approval. This includes phase I-III trials at Dow’s two clinical sites.
