Genevac Automated solutions for solvent removal

NOVEMBER 11th 2002 Genevac has announced its presence at the LabAutomation 2003 conference (1st-5th February) with a stand focusing on the latest automated solutions for solvent removal.

On stand 922 Genevac will be introducing to the US market the Model HT4-X a new, higher performance version of its popular Model HT-4 centrifugal evaporator for drug discovery applications.  Improved speed of evaporation, shorter condenser defrost time, more powerful software (including auto-stop when dry and remote control functions) and the flexibility to accommodate a wide range of sample formats are key benefits of the new Model HT-4X.  To improve high-throughput capability the waste solvent condenser chamber volume on the HT-4X has been raised and the condenser power increased by 50%. The HT-4X retains all the popular aspects of the HT-4 series such as SampleGuard™ and Dri-Pure™ to protect samples from overheating and bumping and the high-G direct rotor drive.

In addition technical specialists will be on hand to discuss and illustrate the Auto-HT8 a new robotic centrifugal evaporator designed to help companies who wish to automate microplate drying for instance to remove hazardous solvents.  With the Auto-HT8 corrosive solvents such as trifluoroacetic acid, poisons such as thionyl chloride and radioactive samples can now be safely removed in a remote fume hood without direct operator intervention. This presents a huge opportunity for companies to improve laboratory health and safety without compromising throughput in organic compound synthesis.

On display will be new literature describing Genevac's range of centrifugal evaporation systems, a brochure describing tools for parallel synthesis plus the opportunity to sign-up for a free subscription to 'Solvent Removal On-line' the Genevac electronic newsletter supplying hints, tips and applications advice to scientists involved with solvent removal.
