Grant BTD: round, rapid, reliable heating

July 2004. The latest microtube heater from Grant Instruments looks set to emulate the success of its analogue predecessor.

The BTD digital microtube heater, with the novel circular block, joins the BTA analogue model, which has already established a secure niche in many life science laboratories.

The features which have proved so popular are retained in the BTD - the combination of hole sizes for a variety of microtubes and the rapid heat-up rate for swift change of application. With a temperature range of ambient + 5 up to 100°C, and stability ±0.1°C for processes requiring precise temperature control, the BTD has enhanced ease of use and additional features for added value: the digital display has 0.1°C resolution for accuracy of temperature setting, and the timer includes an audible alarm to signify time-up for time sensitive incubations.

BTD is the ideal cost-effective dry block heater for anyone using a combination of 2.0ml, 1.5ml, 0.5ml and 0.2ml microtubes for temperature controlled reactions. The dry block is housed in a durable, easy-to-clean and light weight plastic moulding, with a low profile and small footprint, ensuring comfortable location of the BTD almost anywhere in the laboratory.
