Hemosol to Present at BioContact and UBS Warburg Global Life

TORONTO, ON, October 1, 2002 -- Hemosol Inc. (NASDAQ: HMSL, TSE: HML) today announced that the Company will present at both BioContact Quebec 2002 and the UBS Warburg Global Life Sciences Conference. 

BioContact Quebec is a biopharmaceutical partnership symposium gathering over 1200 participants and more than 150 biopharmaceutical companies. Hemosol has been selected to present at BioContact Quebec in Quebec City at the Chateau Frontenac. Lee Ann Malcolm, Vice President of Marketing will be presenting on Thursday, October 3 at 3:00pm EST in the Salle Laval.

Following BioContact, the Company will present at the UBS Warburg Global Life Sciences Conference. The conference will be held at The Plaza Hotel in New York City from October 7-10, 2002 and focuses on the biotechnology, life sciences and medical technology industries. John Kennedy, President and CEO, will present on Tuesday, October 8, 2002 at 1:00 pm EST. Hemosol would like to invite all interested to listen to the live presentation via webcast.
