Universities choose 2D image analysis solutions from Nonlinear Dynamics

upon Tyne, UK) Nonlinear Dynamics Ltd, a leading provider of
bioinformatics solutions, announced that three UK universities have
recently upgraded their existing 2D analysis software to products from
Nonlinear’s comprehensive new range.
Nonlinear are the only company to offer eight different 2D analysis
solutions to suit the changing needs of the 2D analysis community.
The
first institution, the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, has purchased
Progenesis™ Workstation as part of their new proteomics suite following
a year of testing and evaluating a range of solutions. The powerful
analysis capabilities and high levels of automation in Progenesis
Workstation enable thorough investigation of large-scale 2D gel data sets.
Dr Nick Morris, of the University's School of Cell and Molecular
Biosciences, said “We spent a good deal of time evaluating all available
packages and comparing them against the needs of our laboratory.
Progenesis Workstation offered the best fit and we felt that
Nonlinear’s support would provide us with the reassurance we need.
Nonlinear’s penalty-free upgrade options also will enable the

The
other two institutions have chosen Phoretix™ 2D Evolution as their new
analysis solution. The Biological Science Department at Durham University
is one of them. Dr Bill Simon

automation which has enabled us to get far more from our 2D research
efforts.”
The
Technology Facility within the Department of Biology at York University
has also recently been upgraded to Phoretix 2D Evolution.

facility, we have been re-evaluating the technologies available to drive
the efforts of the facility forward over the coming years.
We have upgraded our previous license of Nonlinear’s 2D product
