QUEST LAUNCHES WORLD'S FIRST NON-ANIMAL-DERIVED INGREDIENT RANGE FOR BIOTECH MEDICINES
This
describes, that there is now finally a complete range of non-animal protein hydrolysates available, allowing Biotech companies to further increase not only the safety of their Biotech processses, but also improve yield and cost-to-market of future drugs. These protein hydrolysates have now been proven to replace calf serum in Tissue Culture and other animal nitrogen sources in Microbial and Fungal Fermentations towards e.g. drugs and antibiotics. This is certainly a breakthrough given theoretical risks still existing in using animal components in these processes, and the capacity constraints emerging in the Biotech industry.
