Sigma-Aldrich Swiss Facilities Receive ISO 9001:2000 Re-Certification

03 February 04, Buchs, Switzerland - Fluka Holding AG, a member of Sigma-Aldrich Corporation (Nasdaq: SIAL), a $1.2 billion life science and high technology company, announced today it has received ISO (International Organization for Standardization) 9001:2000 quality system re-certification at its Swiss facilities in Buchs and Basel. ISO is a worldwide federation of national standards adopted by 145 countries across the globe. This distinction validates Fluka's long tradition of providing customers with high-quality manufactured products and services.

ISO re-certification acknowledges our ongoing commitment to utilize the concepts of quality and continuous improvement in the execution of our business functions," said Fluka President, Dr. Herbert Vuilleumier.

This re-certification includes all manufacturing, purchasing, warehousing and distribution operations, Customer and Technical Service, quality control, and related activities. These facilities ship over 1.5 million units of Fluka products per year to customers worldwide.

Sigma-Aldrich now has 20 locations with quality systems that adhere to ISO 9000 requirements. In addition, Sigma-Aldrich has six manufacturing locations registered with the FDA that operate under cGMP.
