New High Resolution Gel Documentation System. The Best Choice For Fast, Accurate Results

2nd December 2003 Cambridge, UK: Syngene, a world-leading manufacturer of image analysis solutions, is delighted to introduce its new, high resolution gel documentation system. Designed to separate the closest bands, the GeneGenius Super12 saves time by accurately generating and analysing complex gel images in an instant.

Automated and safe, the GeneGenius Super12 has the latest software-controlled, 12 bit camera inside a light-tight darkroom. The system’s superior camera technology has a megapixel resolution of 1392 x 1040 pixels to provide the GeneGenius Super12 with better resolving power than any other gel documentation system currently on the market.

GeneGenius Super12 also has the patented EDR (Extended Dynamic Range) function unique to Syngene included. Using EDR, GeneGenius Super12 can acquire over 65 thousand grey scales to produce a true 16 bit image. This ensures scientists can detect faint bands making it perfect for accurate quantification.

The system is also cost-effective because it comes complete with a transilluminator and new, multi-application GeneTools Match image analysis software. The software, which can easily analyse 1D gels and count colonies, is now also capable of complex processes such as automated band matching and multi-layer gel analysis.

Laura Sullivan, Syngene’s Divisional Manager commented: “Researchers looking for a gel documentation system where all their imaging needs are met, won’t be disappointed with a GeneGenius Super12. The new, high specification camera and unique EDR technology accurately resolve close bands, as well as locating faint ones. These features combined with the impressive GeneTools Match software will save molecular biologists hours of repetitive manual analysis and make a GeneGenius Super12 the only choice when true sample quantification is crucial.”
