New ChemiGeniusXE 3
The Highest Resolution Multi-Purpose Image Analyser Available |
11.02.05 Cambridge,
UK: Syngene, a world-leading manufacturer of image analysis solutions, is
delighted to announce its new ChemiGeniusXE 3 multi-purpose image analysis
system is now available. Designed for laboratories that need a system for
rapidly imaging chemiluminescent, UV and white light based applications, a
ChemiGeniusXE 3 provides the ultimate in resolving power and precision.
Inside a computer-controlled darkroom with auto-lock sliding doors, the
ChemiGeniusXE 3 uses a 3.2 million pixel resolution, 16 bit CCD camera for
unrivalled separation of images with close bands or spots. The camera, offering
90 % quantum efficiency can detect a range of coloured dyes and is cooled to
–60C to reduce noise when developing chemiluminescent signals over long
exposure times. Both these features allow scientists to capture faint signals
from any commercially available dyes, guaranteeing the most accurate sample
quantification.
The versatile ChemiGeniusXE 3 system has interchangeable and fixed lenses and an
adjustable multi-height sample tray so users can work with both large or small
gels and blots. It is competitively priced and comes complete with a large (25
cm x 30 cm) evenly lit transilluminator, white light pad, integral Epi-UV (254nm
and 365nm) illumination and computer-controlled 10-position filter wheel for
imaging different chemiluminescent and fluorescent dyes.
The ChemiGeniusXE 3 system also includes two copies of Syngene’s intuitive,
one-click GeneTools analysis software. This automates applications such as 1-D
lane analysis, Rf/molecular weight calculations, band matching and multi-layer
gel analysis, saving scientists valuable time with their research.
Laura Sullivan, Syngene’s Divisional Manager stated: “The ChemiGeniusXE 3 is an
excellent addition to Syngene’s successful ChemiGenius range. It provides
previously unseen levels of resolution and sensitivity. Since it is equally
effective with imaging chemiluminescent, fluorescent and white light
applications, a ChemiGeniusXE 3 will be perfect in any multi-user laboratory or
core facility.”
