Syngene - New Time Saving Feature for Gel Imaging Software

Allows User to Rapidly Recreate their Settings at the Touch of a Button

Cambridge, UK 26.03.03: Syngene, a world-leading manufacturer of image analysis solutions, is pleased to announce the Total Recall feature in GeneSnap Version 6, its advanced image acquisition software, is now available. Total Recall ensures users can store and retrieve all their customised settings for capturing specific gel or blot images, quickly and easily.

Total Recall is unique because it automatically recreates every aspect of the capture of a particular image at the touch of just one button. This includes the lighting, exposure time, filter placement and resolution, as well as the sensitivity settings (binning). This one click image acquisition also means users do not have to spend time positioning gels, since the lens will automatically focus and zoom in on the centre of the transilluminator. These features will save scientists routinely using similar gels or blots a great deal of time.

Total Recall, now standard on all Syngene chemiluminescence systems, is both GMP and GLP compliant. As an added security feature, each image capture configuration can be password protected, to ensure settings are assigned to individual users. In addition, the parameters can be printed directly from GeneSnap and can easily be changed, if necessary.

Paul Ellwood, Syngene’s Sales and Marketing Director stated: “Total Recall has been a much requested feature and we are delighted to add it to GeneSnap Version 6. Those fortunate enough to have Syngene gel or chemiluminescent imaging systems already, can obtain their copy totally free of charge by going to our web site www.syngene.com. We believe this fantastic software innovation will put all Syngene systems way ahead of competing image analysers and will greatly improve the efficiency of our users’ research.”
