28th November 2002. Cambridge, UK: Synoptics, a world leader in the development and manufacture of innovative digital imaging systems for scientific applications, is delighted to announce it has recently accepted a prestigious Deloitte & Touche ‘Technology Fast 50’ award.
Synoptics comprising the distinct divisions of Syngene, Synbiosis and Syncroscopy received its award at an exclusive ceremony held this month at renowned bloodstock auctioneers, Tattersalls in Newmarket. Synoptics was ranked 18th in the 2002 'Technology Fast 50', based on a 178 per cent growth in turnover between 1999 and 2001. In addition, the prize provides Synoptics with entry into the national Fast 50 competition and an invitation to the Fast 50 CEO Summit in the US; a gathering of some of the world’s leading technology experts.
All of the Synoptics divisions specialise in products for specific life science markets. Syngene, the largest, produces powerful systems for analysis and documentation of information from DNA or protein gels. Synbiosis and Syncroscopy’s expertise is in providing imaging solutions for microbial and microscopy applications respectively.
Phil Atkin, Synoptics Managing Director said: “2002 has been a great year of public recognition for Synoptics, with this being our third major accolade. Coming hot on the heels of our substantial ‘SMART Grant’ and ‘Sunday Times Arm Tech Track 100’ listing, the ‘Technology Fast 50’ award is a further acknowledgement of our remarkable success. It is a real achievement, and is one which I look forward to repeating in the future.”
