Hitchin, UK, 1 September 2005 York Pharma, the AIM-listed (AIM:YRK) strategic acquirer, developer and marketer of pharmaceutical products in the field of dermatology, announces the appointment of a Sales & Marketing Director, Neil Symmonds, who will join York Pharma’s UK operating company on 1st September 2005. York Pharma (UK) Limited will operate out of offices in Central Milton Keynes in Buckinghamshire effective 1st September 2005. Mr Neil Symmonds, 37, a graduate of Plymouth University, has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, and specifically within dermatology. He has direct sales experience gained at Astra and Sandoz, where he also became a product manager for the Lamisil® brand - the largest selling antifungal worldwide. Following the Sandoz/Ciba-Geigy merger he took over the marketing of Neoral® for Novartis (UK). He joined Galderma (UK) Limited in 1998 as product manager, where he handled the re-launch of Loceryl® an antifungal acquired from Roche; and was involved in its international commercial strategy. He was promoted to marketing manager in 2000, and held responsibility for public affairs from 2003. Since then he has also held positions as the industry representative on committees interfacing with the department of health in relation to the modernisation of dermatology services.
