Based on a 36-question survey, DNA Microarrays is the third of six titles in the series, The Tools & Techniques of Drug Discovery, and specifically examines the applications of DNA microarrays within the drug discovery market segment. Screening large amounts of genetic data is a major concern facing the pharmaceutical industry and more specifically drug discovery. As researchers move to meet this challenge, DNA microarray technology will emerge as a premier tool for accomplishing this once unthinkable task. Therefore, the objective of this report is to develop a succinct understanding of the emerging needs and objectives of the drug discovery researcher as they relate to microarray technology and functional genomics. The major objectives of this report are as follows: > Examine the use and applications of DNA microarray technology, including microarray scanners, arrays and analysis software > Determine the features of DNA microarray tools that are influential in purchasing decisions > Identify the preferred suppliers of DNA microarrays, microarray scanners and software > Establish the parameters for quality in DNA microarray technology > Understand-from the user's perspective-the level of satisfaction with current products and any unmet needs in the area of DNA microarrays Date: May 2002 Format: Hard Copy & PDF Email Pages: 141 Category: Drug Discovery Publisher: BioInformatics To order go to this URL: http://www.bioportfolio.com/cgi-bin/acatalog/copy_of_bioinformatics_1.html#a513 |
