The Tools & Techniques of Drug Discovery High-Throughput Screening HTS

Based on a 29-question survey, High-Throughput Screening (HTS) is the fifth of six titles in the series, The Tools & Techniques of Drug Discovery, and specifically examines microplate and microtiter applications. Microplate technology allows both miniaturization and high-throughput to merge in an effort to streamline the drug discovery process, which is critical to the pharmaceutical industry. Therefore, the objective of this report is to develop a complete understanding of the changing needs of the drug discovery researcher as they relate to microplate technology and HTS.  

The major objectives of this report are as follows:

> Examine the use and applications of the tools of high-throughput screening

> Determine the features of microplates and microplate readers that are influential in purchasing decisions

> Identify the preferred suppliers of microplate reading equipment

> Establish the parameters for quality in the area of high-throughput screening
