We present a facile synthesis of manganese oxide (MnO(2)) nanocomposite with ultraviolet (UV) photosensitive characteristic by a solid-state reaction based on the reduction of potassium permanganate (KMnO(4)) by aniline, which provides a new family and more selectivity for UV photosensitive nanomaterials in the future.

Further increase in energy density of lithium batteries is needed for zero emission vehicles. However, energy density is restricted by unavoidable theoretical limits for positive electrodes used in co...
We investigated the dependence of the electrocatalytic activity for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) on the interlayer distance of five compositionally distinct layered manganese oxide nanostructur...
Herein, the unzipping and translocation of DNA duplexes through a sub-2 nm silicon nitride (SiNx) solid-state nanopore have been demonstrated by well-resolved three-level blockades. In order to examin...
One-step, simple and inexpensive successive ionic layer adsorption and reaction (SILAR) method has been used to synthesize porous network of zinc cobaltite (ZnCo2O4) in 2D form on stainless steel (SS)...
Solid-state fiber-based supercapacitors have been considered promising energy storage devices for wearable electronics due to their light weight and amenability to be woven into textiles. Efforts have...
Objective: Report manganese serum levels and mortality in encephalopathic patients. Patients and participants: Consecutive patients aged > 18 years, with hepatic encephalopathy an...
In the clinical trial, the Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) fabricated removable partial dentures (RPD's) are evaluated on casts and clinically compared with a ...
Asthma is a major health problem worldwide. The measurement of fractional exhaled nitric oxide (FENO) has been established as a valuable non invasive and simple tool in the diagnosis of as...
Background: Recent studies have questioned our previous understanding on the effect of nitrous oxide on muscle relaxants, since nitrous oxide has been shown to potentiate the action of bol...
Using a rapidly responding nitric oxide analyzer in a new developed modular lung-function-setup we are going to measure steady-state NO diffusing capacity in 107 healthy subjects (age 6-45...
Manganese poisoning is associated with chronic inhalation of manganese particles by individuals who work with manganese ore. Clinical features include CONFUSION; HALLUCINATIONS; and an extrapyramidal syndrome (PARKINSON DISEASE, SECONDARY) that includes rigidity; DYSTONIA; retropulsion; and TREMOR. (Adams, Principles of Neurology, 6th ed, p1213)
Inorganic chemicals that contain manganese as an integral part of the molecule.
The quality or state of being wettable or the degree to which something can be wet. This is also the ability of any solid surface to be wetted when in contact with a liquid whose surface tension is reduced so that the liquid spreads over the surface of the solid.
A salt produced by the reaction of zinc oxide with acetic acid and used as an astringent, styptic, and emetic.
Lasers which use a solid, as opposed to a liquid or gas, as the lasing medium. Common materials used are crystals, such as YAG (YTTRIUM aluminum garnet); alexandrite; and CORUNDUM, doped with a rare earth element such as a NEODYMIUM; ERBIUM; or HOLMIUM. The output is sometimes additionally modified by addition of non-linear optical materials such as potassium titanyl phosphate crystal, which for example is used with neodymium YAG lasers to convert the output light to the visible range.
