Long-term survival of adult trauma patients.
Summary of "Long-term survival of adult trauma patients."
Inpatient trauma case fatality rates may provide an incomplete assessment for overall trauma care effectiveness. To date, there have been few large studies evaluating long-term mortality in trauma patients and identifying predictors that increase risk for death following hospital discharge.

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions
Hiv Long-term Survivors
Persons who have experienced prolonged survival of HIV infection. This includes the full spectrum of untreated, HIV-infected long-term asymptomatics to those with AIDS who have survived due to successful treatment.
Insurance, Long-term Care
Health insurance to provide full or partial coverage for long-term home care services or for long-term nursing care provided in a residential facility such as a nursing home.
A persistent increase in synaptic efficacy, usually induced by appropriate activation of the same synapses. The phenomenological properties of long-term potentiation suggest that it may be a cellular mechanism of learning and memory.
Hospitals, Chronic Disease
Hospitals which provide care to patients with long-term illnesses.
Long-term Synaptic Depression
A persistent activity-dependent decrease in synaptic efficacy between NEURONS. It typically occurs following repeated low-frequency afferent stimulation, but it can be induced by other methods. Long-term depression appears to play a role in MEMORY.
The impact of host factors, such as gender and co-morbidity, on mortality after trauma has been debated. Quantification of risk factors is dependent on methodological considerations including follow-u...
A growing body of evidence supports the significant interplay between the immune system and glioma pathogenesis. Here we investigate whether the extent of local glioma-associated CD8+ T-cell infiltrat...
Most survival prediction models for coronary artery bypass grafting surgery are limited to in-hospital or 30-day end points. We estimate a long-term survival model using data from the Society of Thora...
Evidence of long-term response to lenalidomide in heavily pretreated patients with multiple myeloma is lacking. This study sought to assess whether long-term responders exist, long-term responders' ch...
BACKGROUND: The rate of long-term disability following run-over injuries has not been investigated so far. Therefore the aim of this study was to evaluate the long-term outcome following run-over inju...

The purpose of this study is to assess long-term safety and tolerability in adult patients who have completed a previous atomoxetine study.
The purpose of this prospective cohort study is to determine factors involved in survival in new COPD patients treated by long-term oxygen therapy. Background: long-term oxygen therapy is...
Problems of self regulation, e.g. emotional dysfunction, represent a core symptom of adult patients with traumatic childhood experiences. The study intends to evaluate the efficiency of a...
