TiO2 nanotube arrays/Fe2O3 nanoparticles (TiO2 NTs/Fe2O3) with enhanced visible-light activity were synthesized by a two-step approach including an electrochemical anodization technique followed by a ...
Self-supported nanotube arrays of sulfur-doped TiO2 on metal substrates are fabricated using electrochemical anodization and subsequent sulfidation. The nanotube arrays can serve as efficient anode fo...
Vertically aligned carbon nanotube (CNT) arrays have aroused considerable interest because of their remarkable mechanical properties. However, the mechanical behaviour of as-synthesized CNT arrays cou...
A new and generic strategy to construct interwoven carbon nanotube (CNT) branches on various metal oxide nanostructure arrays (exemplified by V2 O3 nanoflakes, Co3 O4 nanowires, Co3 O4 -CoTiO3 composi...
A scalable solid-state reaction is presented to synthesize an FeF3 cathode material by using PTFE as a source of both fluorine and carbon. The method yields nanocrystalline FeF3/C showing excellent el...
The objective of this research is to improve the care of ocular disease and disorders, in particular the changes in the eye associated with diabetes, by providing clinicians with dramatica...
The purpose of this pilot study is to evaluate the sensitivity and specificity of a nanotube-based point-of-care breath-based tuberculosis screening test as compared to the current standar...
Cholesterol is the precursor of glucocorticoids, mineralocorticoids and sex steroids. Both adrenal and non-adrenal (ovarian + testicular) all steroid hormones are primarily synthesized usi...
The present proposal is designed to examine the effect of carbohydrate and protein co-ingestion on muscle protein synthesis during endurance type exercise activities. We hypothesize that m...
The aim of the present study is to investigate the effect of added protein+leucine or caffeine to 1.2 g/kg/h CHO on the rate of post-exercise muscle glycogen re-synthesis in healthy, recre...
An electrochemical technique for measuring the current that flows in solution as a function of an applied voltage. The observed polarographic wave, resulting from the electrochemical response, depends on the way voltage is applied (linear sweep or differential pulse) and the type of electrode used. Usually a mercury drop electrode is used.
Membrane transporters that co-transport two or more dissimilar molecules in the opposite direction across a membrane. Usually the transport of one ion or molecule is against its electrochemical gradient and is "powered" by the movement of another ion or molecule with its electrochemical gradient.
Membrane transporters that co-transport two or more dissimilar molecules in the same direction across a membrane. Usually the transport of one ion or molecule is against its electrochemical gradient and is "powered" by the movement of another ion or molecule with its electrochemical gradient.
Pyrido-CARBAZOLES originally discovered in the bark of OCHROSIA ELLIPTICA. They inhibit DNA and RNA synthesis and have immunosuppressive properties.
An antineoplastic antimetabolite with immunosuppressant properties. It is an inhibitor of TETRAHYDROFOLATE DEHYDROGENASE and prevents the formation of tetrahydrofolate, necessary for synthesis of thymidylate, an essential component of DNA.
