Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions

Anterior Wall Myocardial Infarction

MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION in which the anterior wall of the heart is involved. Anterior wall myocardial infarction is often caused by occlusion of the left anterior descending coronary artery. It can be categorized as anteroseptal or anterolateral wall myocardial infarction.

Ventricular Remodeling

The geometric and structural changes that the HEART VENTRICLES undergo, usually following MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION. It comprises expansion of the infarct and dilatation of the healthy ventricle segments. While most prevalent in the left ventricle, it can also occur in the right ventricle.

Inferior Wall Myocardial Infarction

MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION in which the inferior wall of the heart is involved. It is often caused by occlusion of the right coronary artery.

Infarction, Anterior Cerebral Artery

NECROSIS occurring in the ANTERIOR CEREBRAL ARTERY system, including branches such as Heubner's artery. These arteries supply blood to the medial and superior parts of the CEREBRAL HEMISPHERE, Infarction in the anterior cerebral artery usually results in sensory and motor impairment in the lower body.

Heart Rupture, Post-infarction

Laceration or tearing of cardiac tissues appearing after MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION.

Right Ventricular Ischemic Injury in Patients With Acute ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction. Characterization With Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance.

BACKGROUND: -Experimental data show that the right ventricle (RV) is more resistant to ischemia than the left ventricle. To date, limited data are available in humans because of the difficulty of disc...

Relationship between mean platelet volume and left ventricular systolic function in patients with metabolic syndrome and ST-elevation myocardial infarction.

Purpose: Mean platelet volume (MPV) is an indicator of platelet activation, which is a central process in the pathophysiology of coronary heart disease. Metabolic syndrome (MS) may lead to worsened le...

Prognostic Value of Lead V1 ST Elevation During Acute Inferior Myocardial Infarction.

BACKGROUND: -Lead V1 directly faces the right ventricle and may exhibit ST elevation during an acute inferior myocardial infarction when the right ventricle is also involved. Leads V1 and V3 indirectl...

Clinical presentation and hospital outcome of patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction - Hungarian Myocardial Infarction Registry data.

Introduction: There are only very few data on gender differences in patients with ST-elevation myocardial infarction. Aim: To compare the clinical data and prognosis of patients with ST-elevation myoc...

Noninvasive assessment of myocardial damage after acute anterior myocardial infarction: myocardial blush grade in conjunction with analysis of coronary flow pattern.

In patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI), both myocardial blush grade (MBG) and coronary flow pattern obtained by transthoracic Doppler echocardiography (TTDE) have limitations in assessing...
