Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions
Essential Tremor
A relatively common disorder characterized by a fairly specific pattern of tremors which are most prominent in the upper extremities and neck, inducing titubations of the head. The tremor is usually mild, but when severe may be disabling. An autosomal dominant pattern of inheritance may occur in some families (i.e., familial tremor). (Mov Disord 1988;13(1):5-10)
Right To Die
The right of the patient or the patient's representative to make decisions with regard to the patient's dying.
Drugs, Essential
Drugs considered essential to meet the health needs of a population as well as to control drug costs. (World Health Organization Action Programme on Essential Drugs, 1994, p3)
Genes, Lethal
Genes whose loss of function or gain of function MUTATION leads to the death of the carrier prior to maturity. They may be essential genes (GENES, ESSENTIAL) required for viability, or genes which cause a block of function of an essential gene at a time when the essential gene function is required for viability.
Border Disease Virus
A species of PESTIVIRUS causing a congenital sheep disease characterized by an abnormally hairy birth-coat, tremors, and poor growth.

Introduction: Limited epidemiologic information exists regarding the co-occurrence of laryngeal tremor (LT) and tremor in other parts of the body, and of other movement disorders. Tremor is the involu...

Roles of load-induced reorganization of multi-digit physiological tremors for a tracking maneuver.
This study was undertaken to investigate the effect of low-level loading on digit tracking and the associated physiological tremors in the moving and the stationary digits. Sixteen healthy adults cond...
Parkinsonian tremor (PD), essential tremor (ET) and voluntarily mimicked tremor represent fundamentally different motor phenomena, yet, magnetoencephalographic and imaging data suggest their origin in...
Scaling analysis of bilateral hand tremor movements in essential tremor patients.
Recent evidence suggests that the dynamic-scaling behavior of the time-series of signals extracted from separate peaks of tremor spectra may reveal existence of multiple independent sources of tremor....
Clinical Trials
Tremors are involuntary movements of a part or parts of the body that occur because of alternating contraction and relaxation of muscles. The causes behind most tremors are poorly underst...
Zonisamide in the Treatment of Essential Tremor
The purpose of this study is to determine if Zonisamide is effective in reducing tremors in patients with Essential Tremor.
Octanol to Treat Essential Tremor
This study will evaluate the effectiveness of 1-octanol, a substance similar to alcohol but less intoxicating, for treating essential tremor. Essential tremor is an involuntary shaking, us...
