Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions
Fibroma, Ossifying
A benign central bone tumor, usually of the jaws (especially the mandible), composed of fibrous connective tissue within which bone is formed.
Two-hybrid System Techniques
Screening techniques first developed in yeast to identify genes encoding interacting proteins. Variations are used to evaluate interplay between proteins and other molecules. Two-hybrid techniques refer to analysis for protein-protein interactions, one-hybrid for DNA-protein interactions, three-hybrid interactions for RNA-protein interactions or ligand-based interactions. Reverse n-hybrid techniques refer to analysis for mutations or other small molecules that dissociate known interactions.
Alveolar Bone Loss
Resorption or wasting of the tooth-supporting bone (ALVEOLAR PROCESS) in the MAXILLA or MANDIBLE.
Temporomandibular Joint
An articulation between the condyle of the mandible and the articular tubercle of the temporal bone.
Carpal Bones
The eight bones of the wrist: SCAPHOID BONE; LUNATE BONE; TRIQUETRUM BONE; PISIFORM BONE; TRAPEZIUM BONE; TRAPEZOID BONE; CAPITATE BONE; and HAMATE BONE.

Osteogenic Potential of Mandibular vs. Long-bone Marrow Stromal Cells.
Although fundamentally similar to other bones, the jaws demonstrate discrete responses to developmental, mechanical, and homeostatic regulatory signals. Here, we hypothesized that rat mandible . long-...
Bone tissue in different parts of the edentulous maxilla and mandible.
BACKGROUND: The composition of the fully healed edentulous ridge of the posterior maxilla was recently examined and was found to contain about 50% mineralized bone and 16% bone marrow. AIM: The object...
