Study Comparing Esomeprazole Magnesium 40mg Once Daily Versus Lansoprazole 30 mg Twice Daily in Symptom Control of Subjects With Persistent Gastrooesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)
A double-blind study comparing Esomeprazole Magnesium 40 mg once daily and Lansoprazole 30 mg twice daily to control the symptoms in patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) with continued heartburn symptoms with a course of therapy of 30 mg twice daily Lansoprazole.
Allocation: Randomized, Endpoint Classification: Efficacy Study, Intervention Model: Parallel Assignment, Masking: Double Blind (Subject, Caregiver, Investigator, Outcomes Assessor), Primary Purpose: Treatment

Medical and Biotech [MESH] Definitions
Magnesium chloride. An inorganic compound consisting of one magnesium and two chloride ions. The compound is used in medicine as a source of magnesium ions, which are essential for many cellular activities. It has also been used as a cathartic and in alloys.
Magnesium oxide (MgO). An inorganic compound that occurs in nature as the mineral periclase. In aqueous media combines quickly with water to form magnesium hydroxide. It is used as an antacid and mild laxative and has many nonmedicinal uses.
A nutritional condition produced by a deficiency of magnesium in the diet, characterized by anorexia, nausea, vomiting, lethargy, and weakness. Symptoms are paresthesias, muscle cramps, irritability, decreased attention span, and mental confusion, possibly requiring months to appear. Deficiency of body magnesium can exist even when serum values are normal. In addition, magnesium deficiency may be organ-selective, since certain tissues become deficient before others. (Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine, 12th ed, p1936)
Inorganic compounds that contain magnesium as an integral part of the molecule.
A generic term for a variety of compounds that contain silicon, oxygen, and magnesium, and may contain hydrogen. Examples include TALC and some kinds of ASBESTOS.
This is a multi-center, double-blind, parallel-group, randomized, proof of concept trial to investigate the relationship between dose of esomeprazole magnesium and acid-associated heartbur...
This study will investigate the safety and efficacy of an antacid/Lansoprazole combination product for the relief of heartburn after consuming a heartburn-inducing meal.
A Multicenter, Randomized, Double Blind, Double Dummy, Parallel-Group Efficacy Study Comparing 8 Weeks of Treatment With Esomeprazole Magnesium (40mg qd) to Lansoprazole (30mg qd) for the Healing of Erosive Esophagitis in Patients With Moderate or Severe
This study looks at the healing rates in patients with Erosive Esophagitis (EE) when treated with either esomeprazole or lansoprazole

BACKGROUND: Patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) frequently have symptoms of dyspepsia in addition to reflux symptoms. Treatment options for dyspepsia are not standardized. The aim of...
Abstract Objective: To demonstrate that a fixed-dose combination of enteric-coated naproxen 500 mg and immediate-release esomeprazole magnesium 20 mg has comparable efficacy to celecoxib for knee...
OBJECTIVES:High-quality data regarding the efficacy of acid-suppressive treatment for unexplained chest pain are lacking. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of esomeprazole in primary-...
The aim of the study was to determine the pharmacokinetics of lansoprazole and its main metabolites (5'-hydroxy lansoprazole and lansoprazole sulphone) after administration of enteric-coated tablet in...
The interaction between proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) and clopidogrel/prasugrel were investigated. The IC(50) values of omeprazole, esomeprazole, lansoprazole, pantoprazole, and rabeprazole on the met...
