A randomized trial from the British National Health Service found that supervised exercise benefits women with early stage breast cancer with improved functional and psychological benefit after a 12-week intervention and 6 months later. Considering the needs of breast cancer patients and survivors and the reported benefits of exercise and yoga intervention, the investigators propose a pilot study of an 8-week yoga intervention in breast cancer patients. This study would specifi...
The aim of the study is to show a higher expression of the Y402H polymorphism in the complement factor H in patients with AMD compared to healthy individuals. Additionaly a correlation between a subsided infection with chlamydia and patients with AMD and a factor H polymorphism will be investigated. An interrelationship with the VEGF-plasma level shall give more hints into the pathomechanism of AMD.
Yoga for Women Attempting Smoking Cessation
The purpose of this study is to examine the feasibility, acceptability and initial effectiveness of adding yoga to a traditional, group-based treatment for smoking cessation for women smokers.
Yoga Study in Breast Cancer Patients
This purpose of this study is to test whether a 6-month yoga program improves quality of life and reduces fatigue and weight gain in breast cancer survivors.
The purpose of this study is to determine whether the treatment of Yt90 Zevalin in combination with CHOP (cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, and prednisolone)are effective as first line treatment in patients with bulky stage II or stage III or IV diffuse large B-cell lymphoma
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact of yoga on inflammatory arthritis and knee osteoarthritis.
Young Women's Breast Cancer Research Program
The purpose of this study is to identify novel genetic factors which distinguish breast cancer in younger women compared to older women. By identifying these novel genetic factors we believe more specific therapies can be developed and breast cancer may be prevented among women with an increased cancer risk. A woman does not have to live in St. Louis to participate.
Yellow Fever Virus Vaccine and Immune Globulin Study
The purpose of this study is to determine whether immune globulin can limit the amount of yellow fever vaccine virus present in the blood after vaccination without compromising the immunity associated with the yellow fever vaccine. The study will enroll 80 participants in two groups of 40 each. The first group will receive the yellow fever vaccine with salt-water placebo. The second group will receive yellow fever vaccine with immune globulin. The amount of vaccine virus and im...

Yoga in Relieving Fatigue in Patients Undergoing Chemotherapy for Ovarian Cancer
RATIONALE: Yoga may decrease fatigue, distress, and depression, and improve sleep quality in patients undergoing chemotherapy for ovarian cancer. It is not yet known whether practicing yoga in group classes is more effective than practicing yoga at home. PURPOSE: This randomized clinical trial is studying how well yoga works in relieving fatigue in patients undergoing chemotherapy for ovarian cancer.
This study seeks to determine whether a specially designed Hatha Yoga program can reduce hyperkyphosis in men and women who are at least 60 years of age and who have excessive thoracic kyphosis.
Yoga Program in Respiratory Function
This study tested the hypothesis that yoga practice can improve respiratory function in the elderly.
The goal of this clinical research study is to find out what effects radioactive particles, SIR-spheres, have when injected into the liver, followed by systemic chemotherapy with a combination of cetuximab and irinotecan compared to those who have systemic therapy alone, in patients with colon cancer that has metastasized to the liver. The safety of this treatment and how well it controls the disease will also be studied.
Young Blind Child Melatonin Treatment Study
The primary goal of this study is to identify the presence of desynchronized circadian rhythms in 25 children by measuring melatonin secretion in serial blood or saliva samples, and to rule out any primary sleep disorders.
