Tandem Peripheral Blood Stem Cell (PBSC) Rescue for High Risk Solid Tumors
This study uses a double autologous peripheral blood stem cell rescue (PBSC) following dose-intensive chemotherapy for the treatment of high-risk pediatric solid tumors.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and toxicity of tandem HDCT/ASCR in children with high-risk neuroblastoma. In the present study, a single arm trial of tandem HDCT/ASCR will be carried out. In the present study, the investigators will investigate whether tandem HDCT/ASCR might improve the survival of patients with high-risk neuroblastoma with acceptable toxicity.

A Randomized Study of EPOCH II Versus EPOCH II and Immunotherapy in Lymphomas
This is a randomized study of combination chemotherapy (EPOCH II) versus EPOCH II and immunotherapy with peripheral blood stem cells (PBSC) and IL-2 in patients with relapsed Hodgkin's and non-Hodgkin's lymphomas, and untreated patients with low-grade non-Hodgkin's lymphomas. The chemotherapy entails the administration of multiple cycles of infusional doxorubicin, etoposide and vincristine chemotherapy (total of 3), alternating with cycles of high-dose cyclophosphamide (3 cycl...
This is an international, multicenter, prospective, open, double randomised and controlled phase III study to compare the therapeutic efficacy of tandem high dose Melphalan versus triple intermediate dose Melpahaln in newly-diagnosed myeloma patients
Phase II Gemcitabine + HD Chemotherapy Followed by PBSC Rescue for HD
Prospective randomized study of allogeneic minitransplantation from HLA-identical family or unrelated donors comparing unmanipulated or CD8-depleted PBSC. The conditioning regimen will be 2 Gy TBI alone (related donor with low-risk of transplant rejection) or 2 Gy TBI and 3 x 30 mg/m2 fludarabine (unrelated donor or high risk of transplant rejection). Patients will receive a short but intensive immunosuppressive treatment (cyclosporine and mycophenolate mofetil) to ensure both...
Study in Localized and Disseminated Ewing Sarcoma
Ewing Sarcoma Primary objectives: Standard Risk R1: in a randomised trial, to examine whether add-on treatment with fenretinide or zoledronic acid, or zoledronic acid plus fenretinide in addition to induction and maintenance chemotherapy improves event-free survival in patients with localised Ewing sarcoma and good histological response or with initial tumour volume < 200ml compared to no add on treatment. High Risk R2: in a randomised trial, to examine whether h...
The prognosis for patients with metastatic Ewing's sarcoma family of tumors (ESF), rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS), and neuroblastoma (NBL) remains dismal, with less than 25% long-term disease-free survival. Though less grave, the prognosis for cure for other high-risk patients is approximately 50%. New treatment strategies, including the identification of highly active new agents, maximizing the dose intensity of the most active standard drugs, and the development of improved methods...
Study Of Anti-IGF-IR CP-751,871 In Patients With Solid Tumors
This is a phase 1 study of anti-IGF-IR CP-751,871 in patients with solid tumors currently enrolling patients 9 years old and older with Ewing's sarcoma family of tumors (Ewing's, PNET and Askin's).
The participant will receive weekly intramuscular treatment with AVONEX® (interferon beta 1-a) and a one-time high dose intravenous methotrexate with Leucovorin rescue, along with the standard solumedrol treatment before beginning AVONEX® treatment.
High Dose Sequential Therapy and Autologous Stem Cell Rescue for Multiple Myeloma
The purpose of this phase II study is to assess the toxicity and efficacy of sequentially administered high dose chemotherapy followed by autologous stem cell rescue in the treatment of multiple myeloma. Prior studies have shown that dose-intensified melphalan can produce higher response rates and complete remission in some patients. Over the past several years, multiple phase II studies utilizing high dose chemotherapy or high dose chemo-radiotherapy with autologous marrow or...
To evaluate toxicity profile and efficacy of a tandem autologous-nonmyeloablative transplant approach in newly diagnose myeloma patients younger than 65 years
High Dose Sequential Therapy and Autologous Stem Cell Rescue for Multiple Myeloma
To assess the role of autologous hematopoietic cell rescue in the treatment of multiple myeloma.
This is a phase II prospective non-randomised clinical trial in newly diagnosed and previously untreated adult pateints in the age range 18-60 (67) years with peripheral T-cell lymphoma. The treatment schedule will consist of three phases: induction and high-dose consolidation, followed by autologous stem cell rescue. There will be two different induction schedules: one for patients in the age range 18-60 years and one for patients aged over 60 years.
Treatment of Vascular Lesions With a Tandem 532/1064 nm Laser
Dermatologists have for many years treated vascular lesions by a variety of modalities including cryosurgery, electrotherapy, dermabrasion and radiation. It has been hypothesized that simultaneous delivery of these two wavelengths may provide safer, and in some cases more effective, vascular lesion removal. The Tandem laser is capable of emitting multiple cryogen spurts intermittently with multiple 532/1064 nm laser pulses (MCS-MLP). This mode may reduce malformed blood vesse...
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. Combining more than one drug with surgery and radiation therapy may kill more tumor cells. It is not yet known which combination chemotherapy regimen is most effective in treating patients with Ewing's sarcoma. PURPOSE: Randomized phase III trial to compare various combination chemotherapy regim...
Study on VCD/IE in the Patients With Ewing's Sarcoma Family of Tumors (ESFT)
The purpose of this clinical trial was to evaluate the efficacy and tolerability of the sequential therapy of VCD/IE in the patients with ESFT.
Patients with certain types of cancer require treatment with very high doses of chemotherapy. A side effect of high chemotherapy doses is damage to the bone marrow where our blood and immune system cells are produced. Stem cells (or progenitor cells) are the source of all blood cells. They are formed in the bone marrow (the spongy cavity in the center of large bones). The stem cells receive signals that direct them to become red cells, white cells or platelets. This happen...
Study Of CP-751,871 In Patients With Ewing's Sarcoma Family Of Tumors
Define the efficacy of CP-751,871 in patients with Ewing's sarcoma family of tumors
RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. It is not yet known which chemotherapy regimen combined with radiation therapy and/or surgery is more effective in treating Ewing's sarcoma or primitive neuroectodermal tumor. PURPOSE: Randomized phase III trial to compare the effectiveness of different chemotherapy regimens combined w...

Stem Cell Transplantation in Individuals With Multiple Myeloma
The study is designed as a Phase III, multi-center trial of tandem autologous transplants versus the strategy of autologous followed by HLA-matched sibling non-myeloablative allogeneic transplant. Study subjects will be biologically assigned to the appropriate arm depending on the availability of an HLA-matched sibling. There is a nested randomized phase III trial of observation versus maintenance therapy following the second autologous transplant for patients on the tandem a...
