Founded in 1874, Mercy Medical Center is a Catholic healthcare facility and teaching hospital for the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Located at 301 St. Paul Place, Mercy is part of Mercy Health Services, Inc., which also includes Stella Maris, Central Maryland's largest long-term/geriatric care facility located in Timonium, MD, as well as a network of community health centers. Mercy is home to the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Center at 227 St. Paul Place which opened in fall 2003. Mercy is continuing construction on the new $400+ million Mary Catherine Bunting Center, an 18-story, inpatient facility.
