The Heartwood Center was conceived as a membership organization where practitioners and teachers could work together in a collaborative environment, sharing resources and supporting one another, thereby exemplifying a vision of an interdependent network of health and wellness specialists. Heartwood was founded in 1999 in Evanston, Illinois as a community of healing professionals and teachers who practice acupuncture, massage therapy, and psychotherapy, and teach tai chi, yoga and meditation. Heartwood Center is now one of the leading holistic healthcare centers in the Midwest with over 20 practitioners and teachers.
