Angel Faces is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide healing retreats designed to inspire adolescent girls with severe facial disfigurement to achieve their optimal potential, and develop meaningful relationships for themselves, their families, and their communities. This unique retreat focuses on the healing process within a holistic framework of mind, heart, and spirit. The end result is a new and hope-filled start for the girls who leave the retreat with the skills and tools to create the life they want, and to overcome the challenges of living with a facial disfigurement. Angel Faces was established in 2003 by Lesia Cartelli, who endured a serious burn injury to over 50% of her face and body from a natural gas explosion at the age of nine. Growing up and dealing with the resulting disfigurements was the catalyst for her founding and directing the organization.
