Cell Genesys is a leader in the development and commercialization of innovative therapeutic products for cancer based on gene therapy technologies. The company has a broad portfolio of clinical stage product development programs, the largest patent portfolio in the gene therapy field, proprietary gene delivery technologies, and a strong balance sheet, all of which have helped position Cell Genesys as a leader in gene therapy. The company is conducting clinical trials in multiple types of cancer utilizing two of its three product platform technologies--GVAX® cancer vaccines and oncolytic virus therapies. Cell Genesys' gene therapy technologies, the company's third product platform, are being evaluated in preclinical programs for multiple types of cancer. The company's majority-owned subsidiary, Ceregene, Inc., is focused on the development of gene therapies for neurologic disorders. Cell Genesys also continues to hold approximately nine million shares of common stock in its former subsidiary, Abgenix, Inc.
