The Institute of Food Research is a UK centre for research of international quality, sponsored by the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council. Our mission is to carry out independent basic, and strategic research on food safety, quality, nutrition and health. In the highly competitive and complex world of food, the IFR has an increasingly important role to play in further developing a viable and commercially effective bridge between its unique combination of skills and knowledge and the needs and opportunities of the international food industry.
