The American Cardiovascular Research Institute Company Profile

04:04 EDT 17th October 2017 | BioPortfolio

Despite medical advances in research, treatment and diagnostics, heart and vascular disease remain the leading causes of death and disability in the western world. Through new therapies and technologies, length and quality of life have improved dramatically; however, current and future advancements will enable even greater improvements in cardiovascular therapeutics. Opportunities to manipulate the disease process and even regenerate damaged cardiac tissue are on the horizon. The focus of the Institute is to integrate research, technology, data and education into a continuum of enhanced care for the cardiovascular patient. ACRI conducts preclinical and clinical studies funded through grants from the National Institutes of Health, the medical device and pharmaceutical industries, and philanthropic organizations. ACRI maintains an informatics team to develop information systems that support the clinical management of patients and the efficiency and performance of clinical trials. These systems facilitate and improve data collection and in turn provide a clearer understanding of disease processes. The Institute also provides regional and international educational programs for health professionals and patients to promote a better understanding of the science of cardiovascular medicine and advances in treatment. By integrating research strategy, clinical collaboration, data systems and education, we believe the true application of translational research can be achieved.
