The Ashwell® Shape Chart Company Profile

You can use THE ASHWELL® SHAPE CHART to work out the health risk attached to your own shape. This chart has been based on scientific evidence from the Universities of Cambridge and London in the United Kingdom. It is suitable for both men and women. All you have to do to work out whether you are in healthy shape is to draw a horizontal line to correspond with your height and a vertical line to correspond with your waist circumference measurement. The point where these two lines meet shows where your shape is on the chart.
If your shape is in the brown 'chilli' region, it is undesireable. You will not need to lose weight and may need to gain it.
If your shape is well in the green 'pear' region you have a healthy OK shape.
If your shape falls in the amber 'pearapple' region (particularly the upper end), you should Take Care. Make certain that you don't put on any more weight which will increase your waistline.
If your shape falls in the deep red 'apple' region, your health is probably at risk. You should talk with your GP about losing weight. Your waist measurement will then decrease and your health risks too.
