Athenix provides genes, proteins, traits, and transgenic organisms for multiple industry sectors including seed, agricultural chemicals, specialty chemicals, industrial enzymes, energy and feed.
Our core technology platform is centered on high throughput microbial screens and focused genomic sequencing.

Our product platforms include microbial strain improvement and genetic engineering of microbes and plants.

We discover microbes of interest using assays that specifically identify strains carrying high-value traits for use in the herbicide resistance, insect & nematode resistance, bioconversion and animal feed areas.

Genes for these traits are isolated, sequenced, and subsequently transformed into economically important plants and microbes. Our products improve crop quality and productivity, and enable the development of renewable sources of energy and specialty chemicals, augmenting traditional petroleum-based products.
