BIOTECH CENTER ZURICH Company Profile

Cytos Biotechnology, ESBATech, Glycart Biotechnology, Prionics, and The Genetics Company together with the proprietary of the area, Gewerbe- und Handelszentrum Schlieren AG, and the Office for Economy and Labor of the Canton of Zurich jointly opened a major new center for the Swiss biotechnology industry on October 29, 2002.The opening of the BIOTECH CENTER ZURICH has led to the creation of more than 350 highly skilled new jobs in the Zurich area.

On the occasion of the inauguration, leading representatives from science, business and politics, including Swiss Minister Pascal Couchepin, shared their views on the future of the biotechnology industry and medicine at a symposium held at the new center.
