Buck Systems, a division of GEA Process Engineering (NPS) Ltd, was founded in 1990 as Gallay Systems Ltd. The Birmingham-based company was initially established to meet the specific needs of the Pharmaceutical market.
Since then, it has expanded its customer base considerably and at present supplies and supports materials handling systems all over the world. As a part of its continued success, the company has developed and introduced new products and services based on technologies such as Blending, Washing, Discharge and Dosing, Dispensing and Post Hoists. Today, Buck Systems remains customer focused and customer driven, and is now clearly established as the market leader in its field of materials handling, containment and technology.

1997 marked the introduction of the Buck split valve into the pharmaceutical plant, which revolutionised containment in the production process. Since then, developing the containment technology and its applications further, together with Buck Valve GmbH, has enabled Buck Systems to turn what was a high potency production area into a much safer environment for operators and a more efficient process facility for customers.

Since joining GEA and Niro Pharma Systems (NPS), a more common approach has also been developed between the NPS companies namely Niro, Aeromatic Fielder, Collette, Courtoy, and Buck, to provide standardised interfaces enabling simple integration between technologies and equipment. This has resulted in the creation of the only effective single source supply for Solid Dosage Form facilities in the industry. This ability and expertise provides the 'Security of Outcome' the market aims to achieve.
