Expression Genetics, Inc Company Profile

05:15 EST 18th November 2017 | BioPortfolio

An Alabama-based specialty biopharmaceutical company developing safe and efficient polymeric delivery systems to be used to create products for treatment of human diseases. Our delivery vehicles, based on a synthetic biocompatible polymeric system can be used to deliver therapeutic genes and small molecules. The delivery systems function by protecting the therapeutic cargo from degradation, promoting uptake by the target cells and facilitating intracellular trafficking. Unique polymer chemistry and formulation strategies, designed to overcome delivery barriers, are the distinguishing characteristics of EGEN’s proprietary technology, and differ substantially from other approaches. The lead product based on our TheraPlas™ technology is being evaluated in a Phase I clinical trial for treatment of ovarian cancer.
