EPSO, the European Plant Science Organisation, is an independent body that represents more than 50 leading Research Institutions from 23 European countries. EPSO wants to improve impact and visibility of Plant Science in Europe. The group was set up in 2000 and presented since then Busquin, the European Commissioner for Research, Members of the European Parliament and national politicians with recommendations to European science policy, such as a 10-year vision plan, recommendations for Framework Program 6 and 7. EPSO coordinates together with EuropaBio a European Technology Platform “Plants for the Future” that was launched by Philippe Busquin, at a Press Conference in Brussels on the 24th June 2004.
