The Association seeks to promote degrees in Biotechnology at the Masters and Doctoral levels that acknowledge the exceptional quality of the awardees and have a strongly defined European component. This is by requiring that the student achieves both a deep and broad training through courses in engineering, management, entrepreneurship, computing, economics, international law and biotechnology ethics. The successful candidate will also have acquired fluency in a non-native language and will have spent a period of study in a European laboratory situated in a country other than their home country.
It is intended that individuals who achieve the European Higher Education qualification in addition to the normal University degree will not only be more highly qualified than their counterparts but that they will be at ease working professionally in any European country. They will be seen as important in advancing Biotechnology in Europe.
