Norwegian Institute of Public Health Company Profile

The Norwegian Institute of Public Health was established January 1, 2002. The institute is a merger of the National Institute of Public Health, National Health Screening Service, the Medical Birth Registry in Bergen and the Department of Drug Consumption Statistics and Methodology from the Norwegian Medicinal Depot. The staff has also been supplemented with employees from the Norwegian Board of Health and the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health. The institute now employs just under six hundred persons with very broad professional and technical competence.The Norwegian population is among the healthiest in the world. Our task is to make Norway even healthier so that we will enjoy a longer and better life. This is no easy challenge. In order to succeed, our aim is to become one of the world's foremost public health institutes.
