Welcome to the Alameda County Medical Center - Highland General Hospital, Department of Emergency Medicine. Highland is home to one of the premier Emergency Medicine Residency programs in the United States, continuously training Emergency Medicine Physicians since 1980. Our mission is three-fold: we are committed to excellence in community based patient care, post-graduate medical education, and Emergency Medicine clinical and basic research. Shown above is our new Critical Care and Clinics Building from the empty ambulance bay of our old ED, on moving day: May 31, 2004.
