12:33 EDT 24th June 2018 | BioPortfolio

1924 Creation of the "Centre Anticancéreux Romand (CACR)" in Lausanne. This Centre was involved both in research and in treatment.
1957 The CACR became devoted exclusively to scientific research. The other closely associated aspects such as medical-social work or prevention were then taken up by the cantonal leagues.
18.6.1964 Thanks to the strong will of Mr. Rodolphe Stadler (Chairman from 1951-1972) and the remarkable solidarity of the German Swiss with their French Swiss compatriots, ISREC was officially created in the building on the "rue du Bugnon" in the form of a Swiss foundation.
1964 The institute had 48 employees. Its director and co-founder was Prof. Henri Isliker.
1972 The National Councilor, Jean-Jacques Cevey, became Chairman of our Foundation and since then he has worked to consolidate the financial basis of the Institute and, together with the help of the Confederation, the state of Vaud, the Swiss Cancer League and the "Romande" Lottery, to acquire a research building in Epalinges that could meet the requirements of the four research institutes.
