Begun in 1998 and established as an independent venture capital financed operation in 2000, MTI has assembled one of the world's broadest pools of innovative and high-performance corn germplasm.MTI's germplasm was acquired and licensed from private and public sources in Europe and the US, and has already demonstrated its remarkable genetic potential in the company's field testing and product development network in the USA, and in Western and Continental Europe.
MTI's innovative structure of close cooperation with breeding partners creates unmatched cost efficiency in corn genetics R&D. Since 2001, MTI and seed industry collaborators have produced and tested hybrids based on MTI germplasm that are competitive with the best in their class. MTI is already raising the industry hurdle for new high yielding, stress tolerant corn hybrids and cost effective R&D.
